CTT Systems receives first Zonal Drying order for the Airbus A321Neo aircraft

CTT Systems AB (“CTT”), the market leader in aircraft humidity control systems, receives an order for the new A321Neo aircraft from Novair to be retrofit installed in two of its newly delivered A321Neos.

Peter Landquist, VP Sales & Marketing, CTT Systems AB, comments: “We are privileged to receive our first Zonal DryingTM order for the A321Neo aircraft. Novair has proven the benefits from mastering the root-cause of condensation when operating their previous A321Ceo aircraft equipped with the Zonal Drying System. The systems will be retro-fitted in the aircraft to prevent weight gain from accumulated water/ice accretion (which increases fuel and CO2 burn) and to reduce other moisture problems, such as electrical failures.”

The Zonal Drying™ Anti-Condensation System has the following advantages:

  •  Lower fuel burn and CO2/NOX emissions from excess weight reduction of 200-300kg of accumulated water in Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320 aircraft;
  •  Higher operational reliability from significantly lower moisture related faults in electrical equipment (reduced Out-Of-Service time);
  •  Lower rate of insulation blanket replacement.

“Investing in the Zonal Drying system is in line with our constant work to minimize the climate effect of our operation by reducing the fuel and CO2 burn. As we have proven results of the Zonal DryingTM system in our previous A321Ceo with significant weight savings and other positive benefits it was a given decision to select the system for our A321Neo”, says Thomas Krook, Director Technical Operations at Novair.

CTT Systems is the market leading provider of humidity control products in aircraft, including Zonal Drying™ anti-condensation systems preventing moisture problems in the aircraft and inflight humidifiers improving wellbeing for crew and passengers. Our products are offered for retrofit installations and line-fit on Airbus A380, A350XWB, Boeing 787 and Boeing 777X. The crew humidifier is standard in all crew rest compartment fitted Boeing 787 aircraft and optional in the crew rest compartment on Airbus A380, A350XWB and Boeing 777X program. The flight deck humidifier is optional on both the Airbus A350XWB, Boeing 787 and Boeing 777X aircraft. The Airbus A350XWB is first to offer Cair™ humidification as SFE for First/Business Class (Zone1-3) and the Boeing 777X is the second to offer Cair™ humidification as SFE for First/Business Class (Zone1 and 2). The Zonal Drying™ anti-condensation system is basic equipment in all Boeing 787 aircraft and optional (as Buyer-Furnished-Equipment) on the Boeing 737NG program. Also visit: www.ctt.se
